Terminology and What To Expect
WHAT TO EXPECT
One of the first questions I'm always asked when talking with people
about Webhound and what the websites within the directories can
provide is "How much money can you make?" There is no exact answer
but to give you some idea there are reports of survey takers making
thousands of dollars a month, even thousands a week. While I can't
lay claims to that sort of money myself I have no doubts that it's
possible depending on your personal demographic. You can earn up
to and over $80 per survey, anywhere up to and even over $100 an
hour for focus groups, sweepstakes and monthly prize draws for cash
up to hundreds of thousands of dollars and prizes of cars, holidays
and much more. It all depends on what time you put in and how committed
you are to succeeding.
It's important to understand how market research works. Ninety
percent of the time a market research company is contracted by another
company to carry out research and surveys on their behalf. Therefore
the reward or incentive for any particular survey usually depends
on what the market research company's client is offering at any
one time. To give you an example, one month a market research company
may offer a free product or prize draw and the following month they
could offer a $50 to $150 survey and/or focus group. It all depends
on what their current clients are offering as far as incentive and
how many people they want surveyed. This is why Webhound strongly
suggest that you get yourself signed up with as many market research
companies as you possibly can. You just never can predict who will
be offering what and when. Do NOT make the mistake of only registering
with Cash only websites. This will limit your chances of being eligible
for untold amounts of other surveys that may not pay as directly
as cash but are often provided more consistently and can be much
more lucrative.
What you can count on though is that Webhound will provide you
with a value for money and personalised service second to none.
You won't have to filter through hundreds of website links trying
to find out if your country is able to sign up with a particular
program. You will only be provided with sites that you can access
and register with. After becoming a Webhound member you are given
access to links that are exclusive to Webhound members only. These
links are the Survey and Handy Links Directories and the two tip
links, Tips for JAWS Users and User Tips for Everyone. The survey
directory link lists over 300 market research and similar companies
that are all free to join and the Handy and shopping links directory
has over 700 websites and businesses that provide nearly every service
imaginable, freebies and more. Webhound wants to make your experience
easy and direct so you don't have to spend the thousands of hours
I did to find the best money making opportunities available.
Webhound won't leave you stranded once you sign up either. With
regular updates to the directories (that members are notified of
via email) and excellent customer support, you will find using Webhound
a breeze. So get started! Just click here

TERMINOLOGY
As you start signing up on the various websites available on Webhound
some particular names and terminology will keep turning up. Below
is a list of terms that you will come across and these explanations
will help you familiarise yourself with them.
ONLINE SURVEYS: These are general forms created by Marketing
Research Companies. The idea is to gather information on a particular
product or service. They perform detailed analysis on the results
they get from you and pass it on to their clients being the companies
that require the information.
SCREENING QUESTIONS: A term used for the series of questions
(usually about 6 to 10 questions) that will qualify you to continue
the survey. Be honest with your screening questions.
FOCUS GROUP: This is a survey done in either of 3 ways:
Online, in the form of a forum/bulletin board question and answer
format; over the phone or by attending a particular location near
your registered address for that site. They usually pay by the hour
anything up to and sometimes over $100 per hour and can be anything
from taste testing, product testing or just a chance to get your
opinion on various topics. As the name suggests these are held with
a gathering of people with specific profiles relevant to a particular
subject. This group can be connected either by the internet, phone
or in person. Some companies also do one-on-one interviews.
MYSTERY SHOPPING: Mystery shopping is when you are sent
to a pre organised retail or commercial outlet to buy a particular
product or service. You will then be asked to look at the way you
were treated and express your opinion of your shopping experience
as well as your overall experience with that establishment.
PRODUCT TESTING: This is when you are sent a particular
product and asked to use it for a period of time. This may be food,
skin cream, dog food or the use of a particular service for a period
of time. It could even be to use a camera in exchange for your opinion
on its performance. Absolutely anything could come up including
cars. In return for your feedback you may have to fill out a report
or survey and you can be paid in cash/cheque or by keeping the product.
PAID EMAILS: Just as the name suggests, you get sent an
email to your in box and get paid for opening it and reading it.
Some companies require you to have the email open for a set amount
of seconds but usually the emails are related to your interests
and are worth a look anyway.
